  3.     I remember Abbie Hoffman from his work Steal This Book, which
  4. I first read in the '70s (NATION, April 24). A classmate had
  5. brought the book to school, and a friend of mine stole it. A few
  6. years later, I lifted the work from my friend. And after two years,
  7. someone took it from me. Hoffman may be gone, but his beliefs will
  8. be passed on from one generation to the next. Just like that little
  9. book.

  14.     The death of Hoffman and the symbolic end of a pernicious era
  15. in America must be greeted with relief. That an anarchist
  16. revolutionary like Hoffman could have achieved such notoriety
  17. typifies what was wrong with his generation. He was the kind of
  18. person you warned your kids about.
